My weight slowly crept up after we were married a few years and then I got pregnant with Audrey and gained 30lbs. And I became a new stay-at-home-mom once Audrey was born and since I was home everyday alone with a baby (and I loved to cook & bake) I just went overboard filling my days doing both and eating it all! I was trying to feed myself happy when in fact I was pretty sad, I was eating out of emotion. I actually GAINED 20lbs over 2yrs after having Audrey–I was back to 185, the weight I was right before I gave birth, and I wasn’t pregnant! I felt so low.
I ended up doing a Biggest Loser challenge with some girlfriends and lost 10lbs when I found out I was pregnant with our second baby. I was initially devastated, because it was not the weight I wanted to be to start a pregnancy. I ate very carefully during my second pregnancy though and only gained about 20lbs and I came home from the hospital actually lighter than I had been in two years. That was a great motivation to keep going with my healthy kick.
After I had Finley in June of 2010 I just stuck with healthy eating and picked up ChaLEAN Extreme and got addicted to lifting heavy and really developing muscle to burn fat. Although when I started I still had anxiety over my body and where I was starting. I couldn’t even muster the courage to have my husband take my before picture, my 4yr old daughter Audrey took them for me. That’s when I realized I had to do this! And that first workout killed me, my lungs burned and my whole body was shaking…. I was SO out of shape. But it worked like a charm and I stuck to it! I lost 20lbs, 21″ and 10% body fat in 90 DAYS!!! But not only that I had gained confidence and was happy in my own skin again and to me that was PRICELESS! And then I was just inspired to do more… I’ve continued on with my weight training and have become a super clean eating machine all while keeping up with my family and growing my Beachbody business!! I’m now physically & financially FIT!

As a mom, you’re always putting everyone else first, but I’m hear to tell you you’ll be a better wife AND mother when you put yourself on the top of your to-do list! I had several years where I barely made myself a priority and it showed. I was unhappy with myself and that was not the example I wanted to set for my two little girls. Now that I’m done having babies it’s time for this mommy to be smokin’ hot–I’m in the best shape of my life in my 30′s. LOVE IT!

  8. Hi leslie, recently visited your blog through google. Have been reading some of your post. I myself struggling with some health issues. Some guys advised to that I should workout. TBH I’m super lazy in these kind of things. I mean I have seen some motivational videos around internet and that is the reason I would say that keep me doing things which I’m super lazy about. My objective is to gain bit of muscular body as I’ll call my self-bit skinny. Recently ordered some equipment’s using smai promo code. I know my problem would be bit off topic but still fitness is what everyone want to get. I mean a pregnant women is showing that much passion then why I should be idle. Kindly tell a trick how you stay motivated, definitely it would help me.
